Regular Calor yellow cylinder which I think is 11 odd Kg of Butane.

And more importantly where?

I saw a place in Leitrim selling them for €27 last week (didn't have the empty with me), but Jacob was telling me he pays €35.

TIA.

In Tramore I pay €33 I think. Never needed one in Dublin though.

Seeing as we are all gas men today, how much is propane selling for? I have no idea of tank sizes but i presume you can get it in the same size bottles tube is on about?

Taf

I can get the small bottles filled for €29, but that is the price when I am getting the large propane bottles as well, as I get them delivered. i pay €90 a bottle for the large ones. Not sure what size they are, but think they are the largest you can get domestically. We use the large propane bottles for the cooker in the house, so it made sense to use these for my big gas boilers, and I always have some spare. I brewed with electric for a long time, but the elements constantly getting clagged up started to piss me off. I also like that I can do a step mash on gas.

Taf is that 90 quid per fill if you already have a cylinder or from scratch for a full cylinder of propane ? Also what burner do you use ?

Hop Bomb

34 euro for 11kg of butane or propane in Galway.
On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

Cambrinus

I get the large red propane bottles (47kg) filled for €90. We use it for the cooker in the house. And, like Taf, I use a spare one for my gas boiler.
