Hi there

Just bought a mixed gas bottle today. would someone be able to take as look at the photo and advise on the correct connector, valve and or regulator to buy? Tips on where to buy would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi declan

Yeah, Thats a standard mixed gas valve. I Think any mixed gas reg will fit.

You should be able to pick one up on e-bay.
I know Kieran from the brewcrew also sells them. (no idea how much)

I'm not sure about the mix in your bottle. It looks like a heineken type bottle. (50:50) It'll tell you somewhere on the side.

Here's a pic of the end connection for those bottle types

I have a regulator that came out of a pub a few years back with that type thread on it so maybe someone can tell if this is what you need

Shanna

thanks Will check to see if there are any markings on it. if it is a 50/50 bottle can it be used for 75/25 mix? Would this regulator do

Final question.does anybody know where I might get this safety certified?

That reg will be fine.
Paddy b's reg would be better! it's got a gauge on it :)

As far as i know norgen have some place out in phibsboro or glasnevin (not exactly sure)

You should be able to make contact with them and ask about testing or reconditioning.

50:50 gas will work but over time you will get co2 absorbing into your stout and you'll end up with very foamy heads :(

You should be able to trade it in for a proper stout ratio

Shanna

Hi Sami yes it's a 50/50 mix bottle. Did nit have any luck finding details if norgen do you possibly have a link for them?

Hi declan

I cant seem to find any info or company's name.

I dont think its actually norgren who have company set up. It was a company who supply and service anything brewery related as far as I can remember.

I wrote down name, number and website when I first started reserch on all grain.  I think I was looking up camlock connectors, silicone hose etc.
It'll probably turn up in a week or two when im looking for something else.
The company was defo based in glasnevin or phibsboro!

Maybe someone else will know who im talkin about.

I dont want to keep bangin on about the Brewcrew.
Have you rang them?  They will put you wise on what you need to know and such.

Sorry I cant be more helpful

Shanna

Hi Damo

Will get in touch with brewcrew in the next few days. I thought from reading other posts that brew crew would not touch a bottle unless it was safety certified. apologies if I sounded unappreciative, apologies.
