I am sorry Lord eoin but i dont agree and while i have not read the forum rules recently i am pretty sure thats not in there(open to correction). If i start it then i have the right to finish it at any time of my choosing,If the thread is not mine then why the hell would i ever bother posting knowing i am giving up total control of something i started?

I don't know why you post, but I suppose for support, information, conversation, etc
Why would anybody bother taking the time to reply and provide those things if you had the ability and open desire to delete the threads that you start?
But that's just my opinion, and I'll leave it here safe in the knowledge that you cannot remove it.

Ok guys firstly i have my reasons that i cannot say about. I started this like most of my posts without thinking ahead. Padraic and delzep i have to get that video send me a link please. There is only one line i will not cross so i am liable to say anything. Oh btw i am pissed on IG original, a treat to myself after the stress of exams so excuse the typos and rambling.

Before i start John rm i did say i had not read the NHC rules or regs or whatever recently.

Ok back to business, purely from my point of view( MY point of view and no others) i am 41 yrs old and i am not about to ask permission from anybody else to delete something i started. If that is the way things are here then i am sorry but i will not be sticking around( big loss i know). I am not 1 i am 41 and ye can think what ye like about my opinions but if we are truly adults then why do any of ye have the right to tell me what to do with something i started? I dont believe i am going to get anywhere with the powers that be here so this will be my last post for a while( try to contain the dissapointment).

Let me finish by saying this, if the person that posted in my name acknowledged that they did so and apologised by pm then i would not have kicked off on this. If you need to ask,think about this, who has the ability to do such a thing ? I have made some friends here and i am sorry this has happened, i have made some enemies as well no doubt. All that said i stand by my sentiment, if i start it then its mine to do with as i please, not NHC but mine, not normally a problem for sharing purposes. Where it is a MAJOR problem for me is that someone deems that i need to ask permission to have my own thread that i started deleted or altered.

I wish the NHC all the best for the future and i will drop in occasionally to check up on the SE club etc, for now and the foreseeable future peace and good wishes

You are entitled to delete your own stuff but if a load of others make contributions you can't seriously expect to be able to delete theirs as well

I think that as the guys said all threads become communal as more than one person has contributed, l can't see how you disagree with that! It's kind of like saying the rugby game belonged to Ronan o Gara because he kicked the ball first! Or even scored the first points!

Anyway I really don't think this thread is getting is anywhere!

I think a thread got split - and it was around your post - so you became the owner - you are entitled to delete your posts but not threads - or others posts
I think you mis-understood how the system works - try doing that on boards.ie - you'll get the same reaction.

I checked the forum settings...
User has 14 days to Edit, after this a Mod has to do it.
10 Minutes are allowed for a post to be edited before logging the last edit date.

Just curious, as this has affected me in the past, why limit the editing to 14 days?  I know for 95% of threads that is fine but for tasks/stickies that last longer than that it is a problem.
