I think the braided clear pvc tube you can get in b&q or hardware store is ok. You buy it by the meter. That's what I use.
If you need longer check out the food grade hose for caravans.

Ciderhead

not ideal as it plasticised pvc and not in theory suitable for drinking water,
Run your hose until any stagnant water sitting in hose has been run through and you will be fine, Shanna are you listening :D :D

Shanna

Yes am listening or should I say lurking.  Let me remember again is that water suitable for boiling or for b transferring boiling water.

I had hoses on my mind the last day as well. I was wondering what kind of hose would one use if they wanted to use the hot water from their chiller back into their HLT?

Currently I use garden hose, but do not reuse the hot water. I would like to reuse the hot water in the future. Would I need to invest in food grade silicone hosing?

JimmyM

Ya could use a copper hose.

Hi Padraic

If your planning to use the hot water that exits the chiller for brewing are you not concerned about what might be transferred from the inside of the chiller?

I plan on having a plate chiller and cleaning it well!

Shanna

Fair enough. I use the hot water generated from my own for cleaning.
