I'm sure this is legal, but how on earth can he brew in his home with all the health and safety laws nowadays? As far as I know, using child labour is a little bit on the naughty side.

I would like to suggest that on Monday PM when someone is stone cold sober, they contact him on behalf of the NHC.ie subtly requesting how he's achieved the legalitiy of this?

After all in the UK laws are now different to us ( they evovled their thinking - we just kept the old draconians laws the Brits left us with and then made them worse for the people).

Maybe as long as you satisfy Customs & Excise about the small nature of the brewery and you produce less tahn X litres per week all the usual Irish Planning/Elf'n'Fing safety/Hygene/Waste rules don't apply?

Don't forget we've (the NHC) put money in Seren Brewing Co., a nano brewery in Wales.

Some put in more than others: were they contacted? !!

Ali's  Welsh project was more on the lines of a typical craft micro: Fully legit and like the big boys but smaller

I (and a lot of us) have the capacity in the house to do a lot more than 70L a week - after all I have given up the day job!

In the UK the bond for a small brewery can be pay as you go, there is no need to put down the massive bonds required for the normal breweries.
