Do any supermarkets still sell it?

Neither Dunnes nor Tesco in Maynooth had some earlier.  :(

I have got both the milk and chopped up stuff in Tesco. Try the cake section.

Cheers Dempsey. When I was over earlier one of their staff said they didn't stock it any more. No further info was forthcoming.

Choc stout almost ready to bottle then onto the coconut porter.  :) Getting ready for winter.  :o

Was in Lidl yesterday and they had 500g bags of dessicated coconut for €1. Coconut milk and coconut cream were also available.
Primary: Back to Black Again (Michael Jackson stout)
Secondary:
Conditioning:  Breac Donn Imperial Amber Ale
Drinking: Cascade Reaction Amber Ale, Fear Gorm Irish stout, lonesome pilgrim pale ale
Planned: imperial stout, finlandia kit hack

Go for that I'd say, I mashed the coconut, but you can also "dry coconut" the more you add the more it kills the head though... It is tasty...

If you mash the coconut does the aroma carry through to the finished beer? My thinking would be a smaller amount added to secondary might give same result flavour wise and not be as detrimental to the head.
Spent a couple of hours in Asian markets last week looking for coconut essence without success. Less fat in them so should mean more head retention. Couldn't find anywhere though. Any experience of using essence/extract for one of these?

I have made two coconut porters now, one with 250g and one with 500g (both in the mash). With 250g the head was normal enough, maybe a bit smaller than normal, but fine. 500g meant the head disappeared very quickly! But that said it did taste great, the 250g version wasn't very in your face coconut, in a good way. But if you like coconut 500g was very nice, and head is over rated :P
