Just reading through the forum I realised I'm 7 months late for the conical group buy. Any advice on the best place to get a 2L one? I'm seeing prices nearing 30 euros online. Cheers

I have a 3L, a 1L and a 500ml left over if those sizes are any use to you?

In secondary: Wine, Melomel
In keg: Teddy Hopper, Coconut stout, 4 Cs, Buzz bomb, Never Sierra, Bock, OD
In the fridge: Helles Lager, Hob Gob

Hmm I was worried about a 3l being too big for a stir-plate and a 1l being too small for higher gravity beers. How much for the 3l shiny?

My 3L is way too big for my stir plate, I just make sure to keep it well away from the edge of the counter.

€20 and its yours assuming you can get it off me in Dublin City centre at some stage.

Work away ciderhead, just about to reply to say it's a bit on the hefty side for me (great price though), plus I'm actually never in Dublin so collecting it would be a hassle. Thanks anyway Shiny, and cheers for the ebay link Metattron - might go with that one if I can't find anything cheaper  ;D

Shiney u ok with this?
See you at Alltech gig

No worries Beer Baron, the price of glass definitely goes up quickly once you go beyond the 2L mark.

Fine with me Ciderhead. Do you prefer Friday or Saturday?

Any thing bigger than a 3 litre Erlenmeyer connical can be called "A Demijohn"

without the stove-boiling quality of course  ;)

You don't need to boil the wort in the culture vessel! For say a 4L starter use a saucepan/pot big enough to boil the wort. Allow to cool (lid on) the when cool transfer to DJ. If you want to you can warm the DJ to 70C and then transfer the 70C wort with no thermal shock prblems. Allow to cool then pitch.

Simples :D
