2,100/20 + others = lots, probably 300

Shanna

Hi there

Just found another beer crate supplier in Google

http://www.systempack.de/prod-kast-20x500x300.html

Have mailed them asking to confirm can they help us out.  I asked for a unit cost for a single pallet with the option to add more pallets if needed and whether we could get a discount for subsequent pallets.

Hope they will reply positively and not blow us off like the other company.

Regards

I'm near New Castle West. I have noticed the old Nash's lemonade factory which is closed down a number of years has hundreds of bottle crates in the yard. I will try to find out who currently has control of it and if they will give us the crates.
Primary: Back to Black Again (Michael Jackson stout)
Secondary:
Conditioning:  Breac Donn Imperial Amber Ale
Drinking: Cascade Reaction Amber Ale, Fear Gorm Irish stout, lonesome pilgrim pale ale
Planned: imperial stout, finlandia kit hack

Nice job Chris,
You would need to check the integrity as all crates are made from HDPE but become brittle with exposure to uv even with an additive
The bases are usually thin lattice and that goes first especially if they have been abused
Black or grey crates perform best
Red, blue or green in that order are the worst.

I think most are blue, back to work Thursday will know more then.

Because delivering a heap of bulky empty crates to me from Dublin would be an utter balls, I'm grabbing some cheap locally at:
http://www.donedeal.ie/stock-for-sale/crates-trays/5573650
I'll be picking them up with Garry on Saturday afternoon.

If anyone else down south wants some, speak up.
We'll try picking out the best ones to whatever numbers we need in total (there's about 120 crates left all together)
We'll be able to store them for a while too so there's no problem with pickup (or delivery if it's not a million miles out of the way).

They're only €2 each, but they're stackable, seem solid and will easily hold 12 X 1 liter bottles each.
I have a few more pics on my phone, but won't be able to post them until later tonight.

Shanna

Where in Cork are you based Eoin?

Found the following additional suppliers & have emailed them to see if they would be interested in supplying us.

http://www.oberlandmv.de/en/products/bottle-crates.html
http://www.erg-system.pl/en/shop_item/100/z2.html

Beginning to get the feeling none of these companies want to deal with the general public and that their preference is for business to business transactions. However lets see one might bite.

10,000 units = 143 pallets! :o
I don't think they want to be dealing with the likes of us by the sounds of it?
What small brewery would lash out on this!

With all our trade conections can we not get a bit better intel on new commercial crates?
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing

Generally got the feeling that the person who this was passed to could not be arsed dealing with a sale that only involved a few pallets. Given that my follow up email asking for information on a reseller/distributor that would deal with smaller volumes has remained unanswered reinforces this feeling.

If somebody can provide us with a foot in the door that would be great. If the German or Polish suppliers are not interested I will widen the search to look for Belgian or French suppliers.

Want me to attack in German? It maybe possible to bring her around. Key account manager does sound however as if a few pallets may be uninteresting.

Sent using a complex system of semaphore and ninjas.

Hi Eoin

Don't necessarily want to purchase from them but I would have hoped they would at least respond with the name of a distributor. If you speak German I would search on Google.de for suppliers other than the ones I have found.
