Bar 10 is probably closest walking into town its on the docks, dont know if sheridans is till opened on the corner  , Salthouse  , Loads of places down dominic street, beirhouse, Munroes good for pizza, They all serve craft beer with Salthouse part of gaway bay brewery - out in the oslo salthill . Most places have Galway Hooker on tap

Highly recommend the Salthouse, they had NHC championship winner ormeau dark there on draft this day last week. If they're out of it they still have 15-20 other taps to choose from plus one cask!

Galway is tiny so everything is walking distance. Salthill to centre of town is 20 min walk max when sober.

So many amazing food spots - Best quality food to price ratio is Gourmet Tart co in Salthill (up the rd from OSLO bar)
More expensive places but equally amazing is Kai on sea rd, Rouge on Dominick St, Anair also on Dominick St.
McCambridges on shop st do great coffee, there is a restaurant upstairs too which seems great (only had the fry there)
Ard Bia on Nimmos Pier by the spanish arch is pretty good too. (Id book & ask for a window seat though as you can get put under the stairs if they're full)

Best kebab shop is Charcoal Grill (few of them around town - they do a chicken doner burger - best thing ever)
Best fish & chips is Salthill fish & chips (waaay better than mcdonaghs)
Boojum, la salsa or cactus jacks if yer into the white mans take on mexican food.

The market on Saturday does good street food. Chic pea & potato curry & the falafel is particularly good. The south african sausage guy is decent too.
Pizza Pasta on Cross St do the best pizza slices.

Oslo & their sister pubs all do great food but they make you pay for cheese, onions etc on a burger that already costs 11.50 (these should come as standard - its a burger!) which pushes the price of your burger up into the teens. Food is always great though so thats just a small gripe of mine.
On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

Salthouse for beer. The Oslo, despite being a brewery, has a poorer selection of taps and bottles.

I think the Salthouse would be my pick of places for beer and Ard Bia for food, both of them near enough to each other... not sure where your hotel is though...

For Beer, the Salt House. Last weekend I was there after a wedding, it had a glorious spread of beers.

4 IPAs on tap. That should put the pub in perspective.

From my recollection of the taps:
- 3 Brew Dog beers
- 2 Sierra Nevada beers (Pale & southern harvest I think)
- Trouble Brewing IPA & Ormeau Dark
- Metalman Pale
- 1 Cask (which had Whitewater Hoppelhammer IPA)
- Galway Hooker
- 4 Galway Bay Brewery taps

There were a few names I am missing out. I made a trojan effort through most of the taps, so you can forgive me if the memory is not perfect. Bottle selection is excellent - the Salt House made a name for itself on bottle selection originally.

Up the road from it, is the Bierhaus, which was the first proper beer venue in Galway. Haven't been in a while though, but I would recommend you visit it.

The Cottage, has good food, and good beers, but its the sister pub of Oslo & Salt House, will likely have a weaker selection than either. Oslo is good too, out in salthill, and walkable in about 20-30 mins from the spanish arch.

I think the Scholars Rest (formerly the River Inn) by the hospital, may be offering a decent spread of beers now. But dont quote me on that.

The docks pubs (whatever they are called now) are worth checking out too, usually had a few interesting things on tap/bottle when it wasn't fashionable to do so.
