Its a coopers yeast sachet 7g 16010

There's no letter after the number so that means it's a cooper's ale yeast? Does that number mean that the yeast was produced on the 9th June 2010?

I'm basing these conclusions on this tread.

Edit: LordEoin beat me (not slapped me) to it.

LordEoin

yes Garry, it does.
See above, I was editing while you were replying ;D

@geterbrewed

I've forwarded an email to Young's to get you guys some more info, expiry sticker on the box states End February 2014.

It wouldn't be like them to supply anything out of date, I'll post their response tomorrow...

As in don't use lager yeast??

@geterbrewed

Young's are looking into it, they have said they are Canadian kits and they are checking with them to get answers, will post update when received

Any pics of what's inside the box (the one with the beer kit, not the cat)?

The instructions say something about adding bentonite, anyone know what that's for?

LordEoin

Sure brew it and review it while you're at it  ;D

LordEoin

We'll all call to your door in a month for a violent piss up constructive tasting session

The bentonite, a type of clay, would be used as a fining agent. Isinglass is more common for beer, with bentonite for wine, but it will still do the job. And it makes the beer suitable for vegans  ;)
