New clubs??

If I wanted to set up a club in Fermanagh, that would cover the border counties round here, south Donegal, Cavan, Leitrim etc. how would I go about it? I take it there is a formal procedure to be followed? I know quite a few homebrewers and that is just in Enniskillen, there must be loads more. Can the membership guys tell me how many members there are at present round these parts or if it is just me, which I suspect to be the case?? Belfast is just too inconvenient to make, as much as I'd love to head up to the Hudson, the timing is just not possible as it requires an overnight stay. Cheers.

Spacebandit, did you get any information about setting up new clubs? I have just moved to Enniskillen and have just signed up to this site. I used to be a very keen Homebrewer a few years ago and would love to get back into the swing of things now that I have more time. Maybe we can work together to get something setup for this region.  Let me know.

Surprised no one has responded here.

There isn't really a formal procedure for setting up a club. Best thing to do is to arrange a meetup with a few other heads and get the ball rolling.  If there's a pub in your area that sells craft beer they're usually a good place to approach with regards to a meeting location.

Il Tubo + irish_goat thanks for your assiastance here. I like "Erne Brewers" name. Hopefully Spacebandit is still active on here. I will hook up with him and get something going. I am not sure if there are many Pubs around Enniskillen that stock Craft Beers apart from Withrerspoons but I will happily to go on a recon mission to find out!

Jimmy, unfortunately there has been no movement with the Erne Brewers. Myself and Spacebandit did make initial contact through this forum but I haven't been able to track him down since.
As I am new to the area I dont know anybody else locally (until now) who would be interested. Maybe yourself or your sons would like to hep me get it off the ground?

Have you done any brewing yourselfs yet? I do an All Grain batch every six weeks or so and would be happy to help in anyway I can. Maybe you could call over the next time I am brewing for a demo?

baconsarnie? Do you thing any of these guys would want to join the Erne Brewers club? You say they dont frequent the forums? Maybe they use twitter/Facebook. We could set something up that way for communication.
