It's looking like I might not make it afterall. Can someone keep an eye on Saruman and especially Dempsey, don't let them know any of our secrets!

I might arrive in there late if stuff starts working out that way! I'll leave my name on the list as I hope to make it in!

Summary from the night, I think everyone contributed to the note taking at some stage although I didn't realise we had gone though that many beers on the night!

Ronan - Summer Session
Brewed with Citra & Cascade with Magnum for bittering
Dry hopped

Kevin - 15 year old cider
Very fruity aroma and flavour
Similar to mead in body and aroma

Paul - Turbo Apple Cider (with elderflower)
Paul stepped out for a while and I handed this around but neglected to say there was elderflower in it. This lead to palate panic as everyone was ready for a cider but got much more.  :D

Peter - Helles Lager
Not lagered yet with some residual sweetness as there are still a few more gravity points to drop, this a came across as very malty after the previous ciders

Rossa - Ceide Fields Bitter 3.92%
Made using Braming X it had a very strong aroma with a smooth finish albeit with a nice bite with good lacing and heat retention.

Kevin - Brown Ale
Coming in at 27IBU's and made with a mix of light and amber malt extract only and some odds/ends.
Fruity flavour from the beer

Cathal O D and Emma 5.4%
Emma's recipe design with a fantastic aroma, very fresh. Very nice flavour with some spice and grassy flavours.Slightly on the sweet side and brewed with cascade/centennial. Very good head retention.

Capital Brewers - Imperial Stout Barrel 9.8%
Very oaky with a sweetness accompanied with a milt spirit/whiskey flavour. No carbonation causing it to have more apparent body.

Kevin - Scotch Ale 6.5%
Slight solvent undertones with fruity flavours. A little sharp for a scotch ale but its very smooth and pleasantly malty.

Sully - Seamen 6.8% (Cider)
Sully juiced this himself with the following combination:
5% Bramley
5% Granny Smith
10% Irish Cant Read the Writing Apples
80% Pink Lady
This thing has legs

Owen - Impaler 5.3% (Pale Ale)

Pours a nice white head which hangs around and gave good lacing. Good hop flavour and aroma. A bit cloudy but good flavour from the malts. Made with pale/Munich/crystal 60 malts along with chinook, cascade and amarillo hops.

Rossa - Pale Ale 4.25%
Goes down easy! Made with Pale/Munich/wheat malts and columbus/citra/galaxy hops.
Perfect session beer, light body but well balanced overall. Despite being advertised as 46IBU's the beer is not as bitter as expected.

Paul - John bull IPA kit
Very sweet, not overly so but doesn't seem like an IPA as a result. Very dark for an IPA but despite all this it wouldn't stop you getting through it.

Paul - Discover pale ale
An extract kit scoring 37 in the competition this beer as a great citrus and fruity aroma. Sweetness complements the hops with a subtle aroma and strong flavour.

Scott - Milk Stout
This was Scott's first brew and he made an extract kit inspired by Left-hand brewing's milk stout. Immediately there was a roasty and coffee aroma with a slight sweetness and roast flavours coming though. Very drinkable and creamy, not too sweet, just right. Hacked an Irish dry stout kit with 400g of lactose form the HBC.

Cathal & Emma - Ginger Porter
Nice thick heat with a ginger smack on the nose and slight sweetcorn. Opaque in colour. Ginger not overpowering at all and is well balanced by the dark malts which do very well to hold the ginger in place. Residual sweetness balances the bery very well despite it finishing quite dry. Medium body with a touch of heat from the ginger. Gingers watch out!

Declan's mystery beer - Cyclops style
Brown and murky with a slight tan head that doesn't hang around although this is due to the fact that the beer is very young. Boozy, prune, wood, blackcurrant coming though along with the dark malts. Slight coffee but not up front with a slight alcohol warming at the finsih. Low carbonation, astringent middle which should improve as the beer ages.

Declan's Vodka & Zeus hop infusion
Only at stage one with a raw hop flavour which is really prominant. Juniper berries to be added. Very strong alcohol hit. Interesting!

Declan's Whiskey infusion
Neutral grain spirit & whiskey stave & orange rind & cinnamon. Tastes and smells like Christmas, a bit like Cointreau. Lovely round flavour, orange flavour the star of the show with this drink.

Mystry Beer - Was in Kavangah's since before it was taken over
Brilliantly clear and very mature. Dark copper with an off white head. Medium carbonation with no hop presence whatsoever. Malt flavours have completely faded.

Dunkel

Kevin - Brown Ale
Coming in at 27IBU's and made with a mix of light and amber malt extract only and some odds/ends.
Fruity flavour from the beer

It's ok Shiny, I can take the criticism - the "fruity flavour" was green apples; full of acetaldehyde.
