Yeast Bank

I know there was talk of this before but I think it would be good to start a yeast bank that we could access. A communal stockpile of yeast in either tube / slants or even washed yeast. I'm sure people reuse there own yeast but it a list of yeasts is there that can be shared we will all save a fortune and give a much to play around with.

I'll post what I have in tubes that am able to share when i go through them.

Maybe we could have a yeast bank thread with sub threads being -
Slanted Yeast to swap and slurry/washed yeast. Then people with slants could swap/exchange them and people looking for slurry could find it... too complicated?

I have read about clubs having proper banks in a lab where they can get access to slants etc Way down the line perhaps,

Maybe a yeast bank forum with the titles of posts being the yeast name and then people could post to the thread offering or looking for that particular strain?

The ideal situation as rossa said would be a real bank that the members can all borrow from but that's definitely further down the line for us!

Standardization of the posts would be helpful alright, I think you've covered all of the bases, I'll let you set up the forum as I'd be afraid I'd break it! And you could move this post in there so it's not empty!

And create a sticky with the rules!

Do we want to create a load of topics or are we better off letting it grow organically?
