Uh oh, time won't kill us.
Can somebody advise what's the status if the barrel, is it mouldy yet, it has water and a steriliser in it?
How are we getting it in, I want to go carboy and use drums and siphon all flushed with shed loads of co2. That will allow me use all I brewed.

Barrel is currently full to the neck with water, probably a bit of yeast and some whiskey/oak flavours.

Last time we filled the barrel we hooked a siphon up to a solar pump and that worked perfectly. We didn't purge the barrel though so it might be worth doing that this time around.

Nothing nasty growing on the water?
I'm happy to flush 10 quids worth of co2 into it on the day we fill it

The only way to be sure would be to get a couple of plates done for the water in it. If Jules gets back to Ronan about whether he is around or not this weekend I could pop over and get a water sample.

Just a note, I haven't been paid for the barrel so I suggest people donate the cost to TOG. Good luck with the fill!

Did anybody figure out the status of the Barrel? Is it healthy or fit for purpose? And CO2 isn't really going to sanitize
