The C02 was for oxidation, didn't want it sloshing around ;)
I tasted mine the other night and in spite of the fact that it looks a bit anaemic for a dubbel, it tasted really good, not sure if i want to tip the lovely stuff into a mangey barrel now ;)

Shane Phelan

I have my "sampling kit" with me and I'm getting a sample from the barrel either tonight or on Saturday. I have to arrange to go in there as I don't have a key and it could potentially all be locked up.

It looks like everyone is ready to go if the "tasting" proves successful?

Woo Hoo! (deep Voice) On the Road Again!!!

Shane Phelan

Does anyone have objections to filling the barrel on an evening mid week?
If it doesn't suit someone we can arrange to collect your contribution.

Also for the last barrel I had suggested that everyone contribute 20€ to TOG as they are paying rent of over €1500 a month for that space with light and heat separate. Only two people paid me for that so I will have to chase up the rest of the members there.

Would the contributors for this barrel be ok with doing the same again here as any discussions i have with TOG demonstrate how their backs are against the wall with rent and it would be great for us to give them a few quid. I'm already paying a monthly membership but such once off payments would show our appreciation for storing the barrel for us.

20 seems reasonable enough
Don't let those other feckers get away with it, except the guy who donated the barrel of course!

mcgrath

I don't mind donating.
Evening suits me fine too.

Shane Phelan

Assuming that the barrel quality is fine, how does next Thursday evening (March 20th) suit people?
I have been in contact with one of the TOG members and he will have the place open from 6pm. I know that there isn't a certain time that will suit everyone so I will stay there over the course of the evening

I will have two pumps, a siphon, sanitiser spray and a hydrometer with me.

Wednesday would suit me better but Thursday is manageable. Earlier the better for me.

Will_D

Wednesday would be better as it off to Cork on Friday!

I was thinking more the barrel
I am gonna have to drop my drums off to someone if it's gonna be this week :(

Will_D

If its at all convienient then you can leave them with me.

But it may well suit you for someone on the south side.
