lads,

I bought one of these regulators off this guy in the US, 50 dollars for a brand new regulator  ;) (Nitro/C02) I was quoted 150 euro off 'the bar company'
He has one more nitro/C02 regulator, and a couple of regular C02's. if anyone is interested, I can order for them and you can sort me out when they arrive in 7-15 working days. (Plus split the P&P 40 dollars)

send me a PM if interested,

thanks lads,

More than likely you will need a new stem and nut to fit boc (for mixed gas) or fire x cylinders. I got a mixed reg from the states 6 years ago and experienced this problem, sorry to be the bearer of bad news  :( . There are a couple of people on ebay who may help  Harmony Hut in the uk was the guy who solved the issue for me. The one in the picture is for co2 only , the fitting might be ok for that one

Alex sells brand new standard c02 regs for €35

A new mixed gas regulator for 50:50 or 70:30 is circa €120 with a male connector for British and Irish mixed gas tanks second hand ones are cheaper

Do you have a source of mixed gas tanks with male coupling as as standard fittings for pub gas are all female?

Edit, Barker beat me to it, you can always use it as a c02 reg, but not cheapest option v's local.

kgarr

cheers lads, managed to get out of this one, owe you big time. Not giving up yet though, will look out for local options.

speak to the leaders of your local club and they might be able to sort you out

My reg is from USA. All you need is a nut from an old co2 fire extinguisher. 2 min job to swap the nut out.
On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

more fittings more areas for leaks and critically on higher pressure tanks which are definitely not something you want to be messing around with :(

Hop Bomb

There isnt any extra fittings though. All you are doing is swapping the correct nut for the existing US nut. Not adding anything that wasnt there already. They're both the same size, just different thread. Myself & Enda both have the same regs with the same mod & no issues. But I understand you are better safe than sorry. So if you do go this route then I guess you are on your own if anything happens.

Huh?

Mixed gas beer connection to female connection on pub tank

Can you post what you have done?

Thats my c02 reg above. I screwed off the stem, slid the US nut off & put the nut from a c02 fire extinguisher on. Screwed the stem back on. You are just swapping out the nuts so the US reg can fit the beer gas bottles here.

ok with you now no that would be fine as its onto co2 bottles and 1/3 of the pressure I believe? (somebody correct me) so no danger there, I was strugling to understand how it was going onto mixed gas tanks.
Alex sell those doubles as as well for 60-70 but I will let him update here?

kgarr

So out of my depth here! Thanks for all this info lads, and the links, pictures. The information well here seems to be bottomless! Brilliant!!!
