So I have the new fermenter from Cooper's and it has a Krausen collar instead of a screw on lid with an airlock, but what I am wondering is what do you do when you need a blow off tube, I would imagine the krausen would just push the lid up and drip down the sides as it is not secured down, Im wondering has anyone done a violent fermentation in one of these fermenters and what happenedĀ  :-?

If you think a specific brew is likely to blowout, just fill it a few liters less for the first blast of fermentation, then top it up with cooled boiled water.

This will give you that extra bit of headspace.

But they're pretty well designed for all that, and the krausen collar should give you enough room anyway.
