No lid off as it needs some edging to fit properly, a minor step i shall have rectified shortly

It doesn't  need to seal just sit on the top, a piece of board would do.
Note wort performs differently to water and you need to get ready to turn the elements off as it comes to hot break otherwise it will boil over and you will have a right mess.

Good point CH, i am thinking a big ass stainless steel ruler which will also double as a volume indicator
