Didn't somebody try and brew beer this way a couple of years back the same way that the Vikings cooked meat, ie trough water hot rocks from a fire?

Thats sathi...its a traditional brew of Finland if Im not mistaken

rAdve

Sahti is traditional brew from Finland. They use bread yeast and that's why it has very short shelf life. Tradition is a little forgotten but I think times will get better as homebrewing is getting more and more popular in Finland. There is some areas in Finland where Sahti is enjoyed in weddings.

As a Finnish homebrewer I have plan to make Sahti style beer some day.
