The numbers will NOT rust!

All you have done is to electro-chemically etch the Shinny/polished surface of the pot.

You have just taken a very fine polished surface and reduced the surface finish to a more "scratched" finish

Its as if you sandblasted or abrabed the surface with abrasive paper to remove its shine!

Unlike the mechanical process above yu can use stencils :)

Aparently in the Bio/Pharma industry a similar process is used to electro-clean vessels.

(Not sure about this so if any one in the pharma/bio industry cares to chip - please do)
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing

Good to know as I was going to try it anyway! :D

@magnethead: looks good

I know this is an old thread.... but I think the etching process has just been upgraded ;p

Not sure what's going on here, Looks like a mini welder, but leaves a decent black mark, and if you're handy with a pencil and a bit artistic ...this could be for you....I'll stick to the stencils

It's hard to expel a corpse :-)
He using a reversible European type plug top, which means he won't know which terminal is live or which terminal in neutral.  It's not the hand with the glove I'd worry about its the one holding the knife, if it touches the blade or the rivets in the handle he won't need the light bulb to light up the room.
You really have to wonder sometimes  :'(
