a hop spider wouldn't be in the way as it would sit in the middle, I only try to use pellets these days where I can in any case and this should generate a trub and hop cone. If I can only source leaf that gets put in a bag and weighed down but again sits in the middle of the coil.
I will try an take some pics at the weekend.

45cm Whirlpool arm from Brewpi installed and tested using a chugger 20l/min on a  70l fill of water on boiler with PBW to clean up after drilling and using oil on the thermopot

Be careful doing that, Ciderhead.  -PBW solution destroys those site glasses.  I know from experience.  There are also warnings on almost every site that sells site glasses that PBW can destroy them.

Polycarbonate does not get along well with many chemicals.  Extended soaks are a BAD idea.

Absolutely right but It was only for 20 mins and very weak solution and after every boil it gets a good rinse and occasionally a brush I have for it.
For a guy that sells the stuff you'd think I'd know better, but I have already lost one auto siphon to starsan! Now it's just a big rinse with water after and gets a SS soak for a couple of mins before use.

Thats all well and good if you have a fancy pump but if you are using good old fashioned elbow grease the hop spider is in the way.

I'm sensing pump envy.
Do what I did before a pump, plastic paddle and drill giving it socks every 5 mins until pitch temp and let settle for 20 mins, is not as good but still worked.

The newer paddles have a hex end on then so they work well in drills.

Also the whirlpool part after Tue boil can be translated to a hop stand. All you need is to leave them at the higher temperature to release the oils. Whirlpool just help with your clarity after by settling the trub in the middle
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead

Wanted to see if 2 pumps in series was worth it especially for bigger batches.
Found some old NS pellets, still smell nice, not fully dissolved to start as water is ambient

35l 1 chugger

35l 2 chuggers in series

70l 1 chugger

70l 2 chuggers in series

Final pic of hop cone, I only threw in about 20g

Conclusion was that even for bigger batches a second pump wasn't needed.

I love the cone. I should post a vid of trying to do that with the solar pump for the laugh :)

Solars do 6-8L or circa a 1/3, they are still ok for recirc but my 3 are long in the bin

I'm happy with the whirlpool I get.
Chuggers for the win.

Leann ull

No filter on the copper pipe out from the boiler and no clogging the pump?

Leann ull

Chuggers handle dissolved pellets no problem.
I tried leaf once in error rather than design, complete pita

Basically bag leaf, and let pellets roam free around the wort?
