That sucks. Did you leave it on the yeast since you brewed it?

Or as Eoin pointed out...you may have got an infection (which is even worse scenario since you'll have to dump the slurry).

lordstilton

No took it off the yeast at about three weeks.. It's in glass and I'm pedantic when it comes to sterilisation

imark

Did you taste it? It may smell worse than it tastes.

lordstilton

No bad smell just tastes rubbery

imark

I've tasted three different batches off that culture and nothing like rubber flavour. Apparently that is caused by butyric acid caused by a bacterial infection. Not something I've come across so just going by what I've read. Read up on it and see does any of it sound like what you've got.

My very first homebrew kit tasted rubbery going into secondary. went away over time. If thats any help.
I lifted the lid off a fermentor once and it smelled like a cow took a s!*t in it. That went away too.
Give it a chance.. :D

Dodge

Ok lads, a year has passed and it's time to get this oud bruin out.

It ain't no Goudenband but I think it's still ok and can be worked further if you want.

I'll start a new thread on the actual date to empty but for now I just wanted to find out who contributed and how much as I can't remember. I think these were the actual entries, dodge, I mark, Eoin, tube, Dempsey, lordstilton, McGrath,

imark

I've got a spreadsheet with planned contribution. I'll dig it out.

imark

My list shows:
Dodge, imark, Tube, Alex lawes, lordstilton, saruman, Dempsey, McGrath, and Eoin x2.

Hope this helps
