What brew have you on?
What yeast?
How long is it fermenting?
Does it smell bad?
Are you brave enough to taste?

I had a Weiss on with WLP380 which looked dodgy with a funny yeast 'skin' on top, In the fermenter it smelled a bit off and I was considering chucking it.
Over time it came good and I had people coming back for more.
I entered it into the HBC Comp and it performed quite well.

Suck it and see...

[EDIT: I missed the 'awesome' bit (Are you American by any chance?  :D ) Definitely have a little taste then.]

Tom

My veggie girlfriend actually LIKES eating yeast paste on toast. She won't even look at the fermenting wort though. 'FS.

+1 on try it. Try it when it looks great, when it looks bad, when it's new, old, borrowed or blue. It's a great way to learn about how your beer develops. Try the yeast, try the bitter hoppy scum, try the trub. It won't hurt you.

she wouldnt touch marmite if she saw the skips of yeast I saw from the brewery in Derby ready to go across the road to the marmite factory and the smell omg  :o

Tom

Come on, nobody touches marmite.

joc

Your missus eats vegemite right?, its just a watered down version of marmite. :o

Tom

I just tried googling 'vegetarian yeast spread', which is a mistake I shan't make again.

Rossa

Is it just hop pellets that went into the fv?

rukkus

I didnt use pellets.

I'm using some belgian yeast, it smells amazing this evening so guessing its ok. Its still very vigorous and pumping out co2 like mad. Gravity was very high at 1.086 so that could be helping.
