I was having problems with my new hobby of brewing my own beer as I don't want to get fat(er).

Then I found this.

Just back from a 15 mile cycle.

Now,, down to the pub to get xtra fit.

I generally go by the maxim "if it's home made, it's got to be good for you".

TheSumOfAllBeers

You want a higher metabolism, or you want to up your calorie burn with a home brew hobby.

Too much temptation around, especially when you get better at brewing. Hit the bikes, do some running, or get into active sports. Look into ways to replace using the car with walking or cycling.

Beer tastes better after a good active session.

Also consider how you dispense your beer, or what kind of beers you make. Bottle smaller perhaps, or dispense in  smaller glassware from the keg.

Tom

Does he make it on gas or electric?

Motorbikeman

Yep.
I have put on the pounds .

I have a limit set.  2 nights of the week I abstain completely,  and the three other midweek nights I only enjoy a 330ml bottle per night after dinner.

The weekend is a different story.

I convince myself that a few miles around the park or a spot if yoga is counteracting the beer but I'm kidding myself. The shame. The shame of it all...as he eyes up one pint Wednesday after just recovering from strong beer Sunday. Mild Thursday is only around the corner then it's back to Fri. No winning.

Beer is your only food source of silicon so my joints are thanking me really.

im resorting to making dry, low ABV beers no more 300 calorie per bottle triples or DIPA's on a regular basis for me :(
