I see Beoir.org is releasing a periodical, which is great! I've the first one PDF-ed onto the aul laptop for a peruse with a bottle of Old Tom.

Does any one subscribe to anything else? Brew Your Own (US), annual subscription is €35. Is it worth it? CAMRA also do publications, for £20 annual for soft copies with out NHC 5% discount. Anyone recommend anything?

I subscribed to byo for a year. When you consider how much money the ladies in our lives spend on magazines which tell them how ugly and sexually inadequate they are, I think I got my money's worth. I didn't renew the subscription this year. I went with Zymurgy instead. I'll give it another few issues but I think I prefer byo.

Wasn't going to bother with the CAMRA one. Not much 'real' ale up here (and it's an outdated idea). Might give BYO a go for a year, then. Only really fancy the current BYO one as they have an article on Sahti. €22 for digital copies for a year. As if our hobby isn't expensive enough as it is! ;)

My missus gets the saturday guardian and only reads the magazine. I think I've got a good case.

I'd recommend BYO. I bought a load of back issues when I started partial mashing and I've only recently bought a years subscription. Great articles and inspiration for future brews, but I can see how it might get a bit repetitive after a while. Their website is a treasure trove of information btw.

I've been getting byo since about 2008. I find them handy to have a bunch at hand for awful days in work and the like. They can be repetitive but I always find they come at things from different angles and nearly always have a nugget I can use along with some great interviews and insights.
It's the only mag I buy. I stooped buying the Times when that loony (imo) Waters was writing his dribble. Haven't gone back since he left and get all my news online now along with my sport and nerdy hobbies....but I do like getting my Sunday delivery of byo. It arrived today!
