I just stripped down the taps from my keg setup to give them a soak in some pbw. I noticed the one i got from mybeerandwine was very discoloured on the inside, black and a hint of rust colour. My stainless one looks fine.

Is this anything to worry about? Going to leve it soak over night and see how it comes out but since others on here also use these i'd be interested to hear if anyone else noticed this?

mcgrath

I dont have an answer, but I noticed mine is the same and was wondering the same.

Bad chrome-plated work, typical chinese  :(

Would I be better replacing with a good stainless one?

If you don't get metallic taste in the mouth from it, I'd say leave it.

That's off putting. I won't be buying taps from them so.
If they're rusting I'd swap them our cos I can't imagine you're going to be able to clean them properly.

I've two of these. >:( I've never noticed a problem yet. How long have other people had these before they started acting up?

alealex

Don't clean your taps with anything too strong, avoid bleach.
Warm water with bit of starsan does the job.
