Anyone bringing any competition beers to this? I've got a couple that I'd like some feedback on.

Ronan, would you be interested in doing a couple of scoresheets on the night if anyone wanted them??

Feedback is guaranteed, promise to be gentle seeing its your first time ;-) Just in passing you will also get to taste my first time effort or at least my contribution towards it. My first all grain was for the barrel Russian Imperial porter that we did. I will have a bottle of it for sampling tonight.

A buddy of mine will be joining us this evening with a Coopers APA kit hacked with lots of Cascade. One of my old favourites. Be merciless in your critique of it.... ;) :)

Big fan of imperial stouts, so should be interesting. Also the baltic porter has spiked my interest. Tis the winter and time for porters :)

Now I realise why so few people keep coming back :) Don't worry I am sure that I can be relied on to put the boot in even without trying.

Hi Folks,  sorry I won't make it tonight

No worries dude, we'll see ya next month, I'm sure.

Jesus lads, my head is fuzzy this morning. How many beers were opened last night?!?!?

Really liked molc's pale ale and Brewtus' kolsch.

molc

It's not just me then. Feeling pretty ropey now alright as well :)

A great night again. Loved the barrel aged stout; so much bourbon!

Quick one lads about the citra pale ale I brought along. I'm planning on entering that as American pale ale in the competition. I take it's not too hoppy and instead should be under ipa?

Also was planning to drop entries into the dark horse some lunchtime. I take it they'll accept it around then or do I need to organise to have certain staff around to accept?

Bubbles

It was well hoppy as I remember dude, with a pretty firm bitterness. Probably more IPA than pale ale. What was the ABV?

The lads will have no issues taking the beers at lunchtime.

molc

Only about 4.7%. Missed my target by about 10 points, which shifted the balance a bit alright.

EDIT: From the brewlog 1.056 -> 1.010, so 6% That's a bit more than I remember. Just went through BrewSmith and that puts it firmly in the American IPA (14B) territory. with it's 55 IBU.

Thanks!
