Bottling from a bucket without a tap

Is this practical, does anyone do it?

My current setup has been to ferment in a bucket with a tap, and bottle straight from that when the beer's ready, using a bottle filling stick.

I want to switch to using a bucket without a tap for primary for a couple of reasons. So I'll need to either bottle straight from this using an auto syphon or similar, or transfer to a bottling bucket with or without a tap.

Is it practical to bottle from an auto syphon? Or should I just get a bucket with a tap to use as a bottling bucket?

i wouldn't bother bottling straight from primary with an autosyphon.
autosyphon from primary to a tapped bottling bucket. You can bulk prime then too.

I use my auto siphon from the bottling bucket with a bottling wand attached to the end. Works nicely and easier with the nice long tubing from the siphon to go from bottle to bottle.
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

I've always bottled straight from FV using one of these - rigid tube with sediment trap, attach to regular soft tubing, and a spring loaded bottle filler on the other end.

Thanks.

Think I'll use a bottling bucket and auto syphon to transfer to it.

Any tips on avoiding picking up the yeast cake / sediment when transferring with an auto syphon?

Any advantage to the larger auto syphon, or is the regular one quick enough with a standard 20l batch?

Tie a hop bag around the bottom of the siphon and it'll filter out the trub for you.
