Sick pc

So my pc developed major buzzing noise so I opened it up to see what's up. The heat sink bracket had broken. I tried to secure to no joy. The seal is broken now so pc will only turn on for a few seconds before turning off. So my question. Where locally could I pick up a new amd heat sink bracket?

careful with turning it on. Without a heatsink a cpu can melt down in seconds.

As for where to get replacements, maplins or maybe pc world will have it, though they aren't that cheap usually. Pests used to be handy for things like this. Also there's a few few pc repair places in town that might be able to help. I know of one in phibsborough and another in baggot street.

Im with molc, Its tough to find those type of specialty parts locally, Maplins or petes are your best best over in blanchardstown or in the city center.  apart from that repair shops could help the one just on the indoor of the pavillion usually (at least looks) well stocked but once again will be expensive.
pc world/currys will want to take the computer send it away for week or so. your best bet would be maplins i think or ebay if you dont want to spend a fortune would even be cheaper to get it express sent then go to any local place

Marx were bought out a couple of years back. They were always my go to ox place. Nought over by a place in fairview. Sent them off an email yesterday. Fingers crossed. Kent to be brewing today and my recipe is on dead couter. Gurr

Yeah I've seen that vid. That would be a worst case. Toy can get the brackets in Amazon pretty cheep. Just wanted to see if anyone knew of a quick fix job.

I've never had an AMD board so not sure what the brackets are like, but what about an aftermarket cooler if you have the space (and are willing to spend a few extra quid) - they should be easier to pick up than an OEM part? maybe something like this

Cheers guys. I'd prefer to keep the mother board is possible. Everything should be ok it's just that one feckin bracket. I'll snap a pic when I get a chance.

Cable ties fix everything.
A friend of mine had drivers side rear car window drop down.
Drilled a hole in the block of wood that was in there and cable tied it in place!
