For anyone in Clare and environs there is a beer festival in Lucas Bar on Parnell St.
Unfortunately Clare is a bit of a barren wasteland when if comes to craft beer, the good people in Lucas' Bar hope to change that.

Nothing confirmed as yet but there should be a brewdemo on the Sunday or Monday.

We should start a new myth:

After arriving in Ireland on St David's day (March 1, he had come over from Wales)and finding it full of snakes (which like India Jones he HATES) he chased them all out of Ireland.

Not a mean feat - took a couple of weeks.

He was now knackered and in need of a drink.

"What no craft beer here?" he was heard to ask! The silence was deafening!

So on that magical day he started to brew Ireland's first ever craft beer.

That day was March 17th and since then we have celbrated St Patrick with Craft Beer.
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing

Sounds legit. We should update the Wikipedia entry for our patron saint

Thanks. Cool might pop in some time even if not then - they reckon Smithwicks Pale is a 'Craft Beer' in these parts ...

I await more detail, but I believe there will be 5 taps and an assortment of bottled beers.
Featuring Franciscan Well and Blacks Brewery.

The brew demo is going to be 7pm on the Sunday.
Owing to the time and the audience, it's going to be a simple ale kit.
Any recommendations?
