Not so great with garden hose though especially the cheaper hoses as they tend to cause the hose to split.  I have found the plastic connectors better over the long term.

Buffalo 3kW induction hob is at a low price now if anybody is looking to go induction. http://www.nisbets.ie/Buffalo-Induction-Hob-3000W/CE208/ProductDetail.raction
This is the unit I use and I can't fault it.

What volume is the pot you use on this? Does the pot need to exactly fit the ring on the hob?

delzep

I have one and use a 34L pot on it no bother. It's a bit bigger than the hob and it's grand

I use that induction hop with my 10gallon ss brewtech pot. Works like a champ,  though I did put some insulation around the pot to speed things up!

DEMPSEY

Is that Irish 10 gallon's  :)

I'm quite certain that will be perfect for cheap "barrel-aged" green beer. ;-)

If you have had all the children in life you want and don't want an extra testicle or "moob" this is perfect for your water or fermentation.
Made from "scrubbed" (to remove the paint) recycled car bumper material and non food approved carbon black colouring this would be perfect.

I'll have a new image in my mind ( a less romantic one) next time I get a barrel aged beer.  ;D

2. Just to confirm - I am using plastic fermenters very occasionally. I am big fan of the glass demijohns/carboys. Plastic fermenters are great for cultivating mold and other microorganisms. All small scratches are perfect for bacteria/microorganisms and sanitation/cleaning process is not always killing all of them. .
