Craps . . . with the chaos, we didn't do the WL order. When you see the store, you will see what it took to move. Give us another week.

Good service and best of luck with the move Brian, I've long advocated a shopping trolly type experience for walk ins to HB shops like they have in the US, as it allows us to see what you have and then of course we spend more!
Thanks CH. But "a shopping trolly type experience " might be a bit ambitious. The new shop will be an experience by earlynext week, and an ongoing project thereafter with the retail display chillers for hops and yeast arriving the following week. We have the room; well, at least for a while . . . we have a habit of outgrowing ourselves.

While we still have the space, any ideas on how to enhance the retail experience would be very welcome.

Hi HBW,

Good on ya for moving. My biggest wish is to be able to pick up freshly milled grain and get mashing with freshly ground grain. (I can't really afford a mill myself).

Would I be able to call in an order on a Saturday and pick up the same day? Could never do this with the old place.

The service is good but ye are always flat out. Maybe hire another hand?

Cheers,

This Saturday will be manic as we are setting up shelving etc. In the past, we have only done grain orders Mon to Friday because there is only one staff member working on Saturday, but let me work on this; I have some ideas. Would you be prepared to crush your own grain in store on Saturdays?

No problem at all. I could actually submit the order online in advance for uncrushed grain if the milling can be done when I come in to pick up....

Well done Brian.

We don't stock UK malts at the moment, although we will soon have to go there.

There isn't really any direct sub for brown malt, although combinations of our malts have been suggested on US forums.

Most posts that I have read suggest making it yourself and its fairly straight forward . . . just roast some Pale Ale in the oven.

Google "brown malt substitute" to see how.

As promised, we are now running a warehouse sale after the recent move:
http://www.homebrewwest.ie/warehouse-sale-57-c.asp

We've got about 500k retail value stock, and its inevitable that some of it got mislaid in the old store or placed under fresh stock etc.

So, during the move, we found lots of stock that was never put on the website, short dated, stuff we just have too much of etc.

We've started to put them up on the link above. Some great LME and spraymalt offers up there already.

We will expand this substantially over the next week or so, keep an eye on it.
