How strong are they regarding the glass carboy. Often feel that lifting the glass carboy would have it snap off the neck of the carboy :-\

Cheers Greg, Thats the one
I'm down your way next week. I'll PM you with details.

Dempsey,
I find the handle grand for carrying from Brewhouse to fermentation  (Shed to Hotpress ;D) but am always carefull. The handles are more useful when washing as it is somewhere to hold while emptying.

Leann ull

The handles are there to steer not lift.

At best they should only be used with an empty carboy.

For moving full ones you need a webbing harness. Available from the states afaik
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing

CH gave me a great tip before, put the carboy down into an empty bucket fermenter before filling said carboy, then use the bucket to move it,simples. ;D

When I was in Ikea the missus convinced me to buy one of those blue trolleys. Of course the only thing I've used it for was moving the brews from one end of the garden to the shed. The only lifting I need to do is getting it into the shed and into the fridge

I've seen those and plan to make something like them, good for transport. Probabally not good for cleaning

mr hoppy

I use animal feed buckets for holding carboys. Works fine.
