I'll have some GY054 slurry available some time this weekend. Will be using the majority for another beer but can spare a few vials so you can build up a starter if you want.

That would be great is it difficult to culture yeast from a slant? I don't know much about it? if u send me an adress I'll happily send ya out an envelope.

You need some weak wort (1.030 ish to 1.040) to grow it up in. You can make that easy enough with DME. You swish around some of the wort in the slant to loosen the yeast. Then pitch that into 100ml of starter wort. Leave for 24 hrs. Give it a swirl when you can or if you have a stir plate use that. Then bump that 100 ml up to 1 litre. Leave that grow for a day or two. Step up from there then to 2 or 3 litres if needed depending on the OG of your brew. You should have enough healthy yeast then for a full batch.

I've got some in cryotube. Could make a starter today if you want?

I did a Heady Topper clone brew with mine and it turned out great. I didn't have any issues with the yeast.  It had been in the fridge for months and I was worried about it being too old but the starter took off straight away and the beer fermented out in about 7 days or so.  What's that old saying about workmen and their tools...  ;D
