Hi All,

We have had a few emails with regard to group buys on corny kegs recently and we have caved to the pressure. Here is what we propose. We will do a onetime exclusive special for all NHC members. We have quite a number of kegs in stock as some of you may know. We will offer these at €35 euro each to the members with no limit on numbers.

What we promise:

•   Each keg will be fully tested and will be sold pressurised
•   As an added guarantee we will allow an NHC rep to call down and handpick the kegs from our vast stock. Most of our kegs are indistinguishable from new ones. You will not be let down with this offer.

This is a once off offer (Not available on the website!). How do you get some? Put your name on here with the amount you require. Closing date on the offer is Friday November 25th. Once we have the final number, a rep(s) calls and picks the kegs out. We would then need one week to get them tested and checked for you. Once payment is made we can then co-ordinate delivery or collection (preferred route).

How does this sound.

Is there anyone who travels up north regularly who would be willing to bring 4/5 kegs up with them? Maybe on your commute to work or whatever. There's a few of us interested and we could work out fair payment for the effort of course.

Re the Corny buy:

This was started up as a NHC Group buy but was initiated by THBC.

They have already stated that a rep. can come down and select the Cornys. They will then be cleaned/checked/etc.

Some time later the WHOLE consignment will be shipped to someone.

This is how GBs work !!

If you want individual deliverys then as he says - just buy them for the higher price.

I am not sure if THBC will facilitate a SMALL number of regional GBs?

NCB (ie Will in MRFC will take as many pallets as we need)

This is probably the last ever offer of Cornys at this price.

We need to maximise this!

BTW: I am not on the "to buy" list!!

Are there any other brewers based on the west coast who have signed up for the cornys?  I've put my name down for 2 but as someone rightly pointed out this is a GB and the kegs won't be delivered so it might make more sense to just buy directly from the site.

You need to be a full member to avail, payment is via paypal to .. paypal@nationalhomebrewclub.ie - please put your forum name as a note on payment
The Fees must be born by the Member (select paying friends and family), failure to pay correct amount will result in refund and being marked 'unpaid'

We will pay the total to the HBC in full. Members must organise the collection of the kegs via their clubs (sounds like most have done this already)

To assist admin, please group as per collection or club.

I'm not certain, but looking at the list I think It's just you and me in the southwest Keg. 

Anyone else in cork, kerry or limerick?   Please let me know if there's anyone else down this way getting kegs.   My better half is up that way for work fairly often, so I MIGHT be able to convince her to do a detour and pick up some kegs if there's room in her car.

Not really relevant. The whole point in group buys are the savings you make so why would anyone want to give a third party any extra money. I know its a saving i dont need that pointed out. Im querying a policy thay costs us all money.

The reality is that we have a very limited bank account, its a free one, online access is limited and transactions need to be done at the branch (none online),also it can be very hard to see who is paying what with the bank, hard to trace - no emails etc.

Paypal is very traceable, every transaction is logged and can be refunded / tracked etc if required. Full online access etc..  downside is the transaction charge.

Transparency is key and Paypal sorts that.

So I suppose we think that's the fee is a price worth paying.

Well the bank account details is still in the sticky for the group buys so maybe it should be taken out.

Could this group buy not have been done by cash seeing as we actually have to go and collect the kegs?

Not sure if i did something wrong.  I paid 106.53 through PayPal,  but didn't get charged any fees.  Did i select the wrong thing and cause fees to be collected from the nhc side?

Yep you didn't pay the fee. You need to select the option below. Seeing as you didnt' pay the fee you'll need to do the same thing again and pay the fee of 3.75. This will mean you'll additionally get charged another fee for this specific transaction. Make sense?

Will be calling in this Saturday,  on way to Dublin.  So could drop off one ir two,  somewhere if it would help anyone out ( or back to tipp,  if someone in the south is looking for a dig out) 

- do i need to contact them beforehand?
