I'm confused(surprise i know) but do Tesco Direct ship to Ireland or are you getting this via parcel motel ?

500w is not enough to power corona like mills.
Had drill from Argos and managed to burnt it :/

they are not always in stock but when aldi or lidl are doing the specials and they have the large drills for 50 euro and i bought the one from aldi not expecting much and its an animal of a thing. it eats through comcrete with a two inch core bit. for 50 euro i cant complain. maybe its a bit big though. variable speed with six settings and 3 year gaurentee

I usually get it delivered to the local store in Derry and collect it from there.

Be interesting to see if Tesco Direct would work with parcel motel as they often have great home brew and craft beer deals too i believe.

500W is roughly 0.75hp and that is enough to lift 2 x 25kg bags of malt by 1meter in 1sec 

How big is your corona mill Jacob? 

Or are you questioning argos tools quality?

I burnt out a  500W grinding grains for a DIPA.
920W beast now that makes short work of whatever amount of grain I put in front of it.

Drill was 15 quid earlier...back up to 30 now.Not as cheap.

Had a porkert mill. Happy with brewferm roller mill now powered by 18V bosch

The best way to power a roller mill is with a rechargeable drill set at 400 rpm.

400 is the optimum speed for roller mills

I once used my BIG 1/2" B&D mains drill to drive a roller mill and when it stalled (on something hard):

1: Nearly boroke my wrist

2. Flipped the whole mill and hopper sideways! There was grain every where

Roller mill can use a smaller drill than the corona mill which seems to be tough on de drill. If buyin a drill dont buy a mains unless u dont need a functioning forearm wrist and fingers. My recomendation is a cordless of medium to heavy duty with 2 GEARS. On first gear it will power through nicely. Failing that just use the handle supplied

I have and 850w Bosch variable speed which I find great as I can turn it down to just enough torque to do the job. The battery drill will do it too, but it's S-L-O-W (edit: and the battery runs out!)

Have cheap version of that Bosch, the best thing a man can buy in Lidl.
