Hi.

Shay here from Collon. I'm home brewing on and off for a few years now. Mainly kit brewing till now. Trying my hand at all grain brewing at the moment. Loving every bit of it.  Fantastic forum btw. Full of great advice.

Shay.

Welcome Shay! What's brewing at the moment?

Hi.

I've just finished a Hoegarrden clone. Smells lovely. Its been bubblin away a few days now. I've never used spices in beer before. Nice and orangy.  :)

LordEoin

mmm orange! some ground coriander seed is a good addition with orange :)
I've used a few different types of orange and i so far find the valencia orange has the best tasting zest

shaymey

Good to know. I used the curacao orange peel from the homebrew company. It was dried in a bag. Had a little nibble. Didn't really think they had much zing. Will try Valencia next time.

Well Shaymey, check the brew communities section for the Louth Group. We meet the 2nd Friday of the month in Soraghans on the Ardee rd. if you fancy it?

shaymey

Yeah. Sounds good. Think I know it.  :)

There's a couple of us travel from Drogheda, we could swing through Collon?

shaymey

Even better. That'd be great. ;D So was there one on yesterday?

It was on last Friday. Welcome aboard. Come along to our next meet-up. The Louth club seems to be growing nicely.
