Tough call. You could enter it in both categories? Or I think you could enter it in the "Specialty IPA" category as a Session IPA??

Screw it. First all grain and it made a hoppy beer that I enjoy. Will pop it in as an IPA and if it's docked for the borderline abv, I won't mind. Just want to get some good feedback to improve my brewing.
Poor judges. America ipa with English yeast and a good chunk of Crystal. They'll be looking at it funny no doubt :)
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

Just to contradict myself completely here... might be better as a pale ale.. Just been looking at the style guidelines and here's what it says about about hopping rates for APA:

QuoteAroma: Usually moderate to strong hop aroma from dry hopping or late kettle additions of American hop varieties... Dry hopping (if used) may add grassy notes, although this character should not be excessive.

Flavor: Usually a moderate to high hop flavor, often showing a citrusy American hop character.. The balance is typically towards the late hops and bitterness, but the malt presence can be substantial.. Moderate to high hop bitterness with a medium to dry finish. Hop flavor and bitterness often lingers into the finish. Dry hopping (if used) may add grassy notes, although this character should not be excessive.

It's a tough one!  :-\

Hehe, it's grand. Just had lunch in the dark horse and dropped it in as an ipa. Decision made ;)

Lads(guy that sat with us before, full beard) were all very nice to me, even got a wee taster of a new ipa they had in - delicious.
Also, they were asking for a date for the next meet up as they want to update the board. Told him to text you.

Hehe, I work in Ballsbridge, so the place is only 10 mins away on the train. God it was torture sitting there not having a sneaky pint though. If it wasn't for meetings this afternoon... ;)

If you're in this evening, ask Colm for a try of that ipa. Can't remember the name of it now, but it was lovely. Had a real lemon zing to it.
