This thing is alive 

The water in the air lock was a little darker a few days ago but nothing serious. I couldn't see any activity.



I went out to the garage tonight to get a screwdriver and the air lock was overflowing.



I've changed the air lock for a blow off tube. It smells fine but is definitely active. The temperature is around 5 to 6'C.

If I recall correctly some of that beer wasn't fully fermented it out - so hopefully we've basically krausened it, which is supposed to be a great way of cleaning up the brew in secondary!

Just to keep this thread up to date, we are planning to empty the barrel on Good Friday (April 3rd) starting around 7:00PM.

If you can't make it on the night, make sure you drop a corny or FV to me so we can fill it for you.
