What was wrong with it?

Badly manufactured...holes in sheets that don't connect to anyting, holes for bolts that don't match up, the door design is atrocious, won't close unless you take out some of the fixing screws for the panels above it and the material is nearly as light as a beer can...worst money i've ever spent.

Has anyone tried out therse guys? They seem very cheap so I'm assuming poor quality, but you never know. I'm on the look out for a shed too but haven't made any decisions yet.

Where do you live?

Are there any places around you that you can go and see them in the flesh as it were.

For example there are a couple of Shed places on the old Belfast Rd tween Swords and Julianstown

Its probably worth the check as its only then can you check the quality,

Alternative is to phone them and ask to inspect a shed somehow at teir address or ask to see a customers shed of the same design.

Called our to Shedsdirectireland.com yesterday,  3mm steel and do look a bit lite but I plan on insulation and might make it studier.

Today plan on calling to Clane sheds.

10ft x 15ft garage is €1200 with Shedsdirectireland.com  but the 10ft x 12ft is only €540.

Now I'm thinking of getting 2 sheds, 1 for me and my brewing gear and a smaller for all the garden and household junk.

With the money I save I can get my brew shed insulated and wired plus buy a fridge freezer.

DEMPSEY

Good thinking ahead like that. 1 shed will be invaded by the household but make sure you fit out garden shed with good storage space as most stuff just gets piled in and you then can never find stuff later. Trust me I know >:(

Closing the gate after the horse has bolted but...
Whats the best way to Insulate - is there any point?
I have a Steeltech with the flock lining.
This is on a Concrete slab, the shed is bolted down.
I lined it out with polythene sheet and there is an infill floor (An inch or so - crap finish - thats another story)
If I insulate the shed, I'll end up with moisture, it needs vents to breathe.
Is it worth doing?
I don't want stuff rusting in there.

Would a portacabin be an option ?

They come insulated and just matter running power supply and your good to go.

Maybe factor in the cost of the peripheral  work you need to do with a metal shed and then try compare price of cabin.

Its the route I took and so happy I did.

I had read somewhere that condensation and temperature fluctuations are a major issue with metal sheds - you can obviously insulate to mitigate this but a wooden shed doesn't have these problems to start with.

I bought a steeltech shed with insulation already built into the manufactured panels. It's the foil backed kingspan insulation boards and the are put between the sheet steel and the frame. It's all sealed with foil tape and it's a very good job.  It would be difficult to retrofit like that. Here's a couple of pictures of it just after the guys put it up.  You can see what I mean from this.

I then partitioned the inside and put up polythene, taped it all to create a barrier between the internal humidity and the exposed galvanised seel frame. The plasterboard, taped and jointed. I'm not worried about condensation on the steel work. It's maintenance free, has a 30yr guarantee and was up in 2 hours. Very happy with it and would have no reservations recommending that company.
One thing though (and this isn't necessarily a bad thing), mobile phone signal is seriously attenuated by the layers of steel and foil.

just back from clanesteelgardensheds.ie and the quality of there sheds are way better than sheds direct but there prices reflect that.

SD 10 X 10 €480  - Clane 10 x 10 €1800

SD 15 x 10 €1200 - Clane 16 x 10 €3000
