Laymans perception of home brew

I'm chuckling to myself at the min.....
Below are some of the usual reaction or comments when people hear "Homebrew beer"
Eh I'm not sure about that stuff
Or
That stuff will blow your head off
Maybe it's
It's not really like "commercial" beer, sure it's not?

Well I have a 20ltr keg of murphys on tap (there is a very good reason) alongside one of my lagers
My wife cousin was helping me fit a gasline to my brew stand earlier. He never had a Homebrew before and only drinks stout. I pulled him a glass of murphys and I heard all of the above statements in order.  Lastly was "nah it's not for me, it's too strong, I prefer the commercial stuff"
He is none the wiser but I'm laughing away here

The ones I laugh at are those who claimed to make a dodgy kit years ago, leave it in a bucket for 2 days then drank it straight from the bucket and claimed to be locked after 2 pints. There seems to be a lot of these people

Locked? Na, more like a diabetic coma from all the unfermented KILOGRAMS of sugar they'll have thrown in to boost the ABV, but that the poor yeast hadn't the time nor resources to convert to actual booze.

Missus gave some of the neighbours my schwartzbier. In fairness it went down alright generally but there was also "yeah, but I prefer lager" comments. Oh well.

I had all my dingy cars in my dad's Bucket of Homebrew when I was a kid.   He opened the bucket to bottle it,  took all the cars out by hand and proceeded with the bottling.  He claims it added to the flavour profile
