Exactly as it says on the tin. If anyone spots any or all of the above, let me know. Looking to get a bit more control in my yeast growing. Don't mind building the thing myself, but I still need to get my hands on the parts cheaply, as the HB stores are charging an arm and a leg.

Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

I picked up the above at MBAW.
All cheap Chinese stuff.
The stirplate works and does the job, the build is 'ok' - you won't see this in any lab...
The stir bar comes with the plate, again it works, but the plastic is cheap.
I think the flask is 1l, but no markings on out to indicate that you can drop it from your hob into ice (borosilicate, Pyrex etc.)

Well if the above comes with the flask as well, it's cheap enough for me to say feck it and pick one up.

The plate comes with a bar, the flask is separate, but it's cheap.

Cheers lads. Will have a muse but at least it's cheaper then what I've seen on aliababa so far

I got my flask and stir bar from ocon chemicals, paid around 15 for a 2L flask  and two stirbars. They have stir plates as well. I only live down the road from them so I was able to call in but they have an online shop as well.

johnrm

Any idea the price of the stir plates?
I was on to them before for chemicals and they were pretty dear.

I have a spare stir bar that you're welcome to

This digital stirplate is one of the best I've come across for beer starters. Including P&P I think it comes in at about €70 depending on the exchange rate. They also throw in some stir bars.
Every little helps

Ok that thing actually looks like the d*gs b*llix. I think I might just say feck it and get one of those and a decent flask.
I fail utterly at saving money with this hobby :P

It's very effective with bigger starters (I got a 4 litre starter swirling no problem) and makes a cool little rising beeping noise when you crank it up. The only downside is you need to buy an adaptor to get it working here in Ireland.

I gave in and ordered one from ebay, as their site didn't have a link for Ireland. €80 all in and it's meant to come with a proper plug for the UK.

Those flasks cost and arm and a leg though, so going to use one of Ikea's finest big 5 litre jars or something until I spot a 2L one for a decent price.

Any idea what they call the stirbars?  €15 for a 2L flask sounds good to me, can't seem to find stir bars on the site though unless this is it?
