East Cork brewday?

I was talking about this at our last meetup.

Will we hold a brew day in the next month or two? We could try 2 small batch brews, one stockpot/induction hob and
one bucket boiler style. I'm sure the Mad Monk would be on for hosting us as long as it's not their beer festival or anything like
that.

I've had a few people asking me when the next brew day is on, so hopefully we'll get some interest.

What do you think?

both of those days work for me. I'm happy to bring either my induction or bucket boiler setups down for a 5l all grain.

Today happened. Made beer.
Now the negatives...
I went super small, aiming for 5l American amber @1.056
Not bringing enough pots was one faux pas, so I had to juggle a bit.
Mash temp control was difficult on the induction hob, ideally I needed a big quilt  rather than an induction hob which I am sure went over temp and denatured the enzymes.
Ended up with 4l of 1.052

It was  a fun brewday. Slightly chaotic.



I brewed a Robust Porter, using a clone recipe of a beer I've never tasted. as you do. There was a slight mis-translation between metric and imperial and I ended up doubling the grain quantities, making it more of  a Russian Imperial Porter. 1.084. Didn't think my hydrometer went that high. Diluted back to the target 1.057 and looking forward to tasting it.
