Airlocks

So since I started with the coppers fermenter a couple of years back which didn't use an airlock.  I've never used them and just leave the lid on, never had any bother with bad batches , just wondering if anyone else that doesn't use them.

I generally do, only because I have one fermenter that has no hole and grommet.
It's not important particularly if you have temp control and have a handle on fermentation
