Often thought of getting one of these for conversion into a BIAB MT/Kettle wondering what your thoughts are on how they would stand up to consistent high temps Jacob ?

Perfect for FV, definitely wouldn't recommend these for heat (not the temp ability of the plastic), just way too thin & flexible to have 30 odd litres of hot liquid wobbling about.

There are sturdier buckets ~€18-20 with the homebrew shops.

I looked into it and from what i can tell its the same plastic in both ?

May be same plastic type, but way, way thinner; they're designed for containing food at room temp & lower, not heated sugary wort from 60-100^oC.

Remember 25L of wort >60^oC can be very dangerous & messy if spilt, by moving or being knocked against. It's not the intentional actions that do the damage.

When heated the plastic gets quite soft and becomes very flexible, especially if it's this thin.
