I've turned off aliexpress after getting quick disconnects. they look the part but they leak everywhere.
If it's got moving parts or needs to be watertight, I look elsewhere now.
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

Maybe it's not aliexpress that's the issue though, perhaps it's the parts and I would guess that there's a few suppliers over this side of the world selling exactly the same parts... I suppose the old "you get what you pay for" addage still holds true here.

I might be in the same boat with this tap, and if I am, I'll order a genuine one from the states  :-\

PS Still need to know the ID of the tubing required !  ;D

Where did you get the disconnects? I've been using stainless quick disconnects from aliexpress which do what they should do.

The Ali white gas ones were crap, I ended out chucking a few as well, no point now with lower price in HBC as well.

Ed that should be standard 3/8, warm flame and jubilee clip is your friend there in any case

I have them and its not amazing. Thinking of getting real perlicks. You really have to push the tap handle back to stop leaks. Which is all well and good until you've had a few.

Cheers, but the 3/8" line I got from mybeerandwine is grand for the gas - fits the JG fittings perfect, but it's too big for the tap, so I'm guessing it's 5/16" but not sure that it's not 3/16" :(

I'll stick a vernier on it when I get home, I was just chancing my arm that someone here might know so I could order it today!

I agree with the pricing on HBC now plus your full member discount you would be better off getting them there. ;D

These were the 1/2 bsp male/female disconnects for my brewery tubing. I can kind of get them to work if I put 2 o rings in, but they end up displacing right at the wrong moment.

They all looked the same and had the rough same price in the site, so just picked one at random.

Brewpi store sell camlocks for almost the same cost so just going to get all my gear there.

I was tempted to get some Chinese ones, but after reading reviews of them I decided against it. but my uncle is coming home during the summer so I'm getting some proper ones.

Cheers. Ive a bunch of leaky stainless QD's I bought from MB&W. Load of shite. Went with the ones from morebeer.com & they're class. I actually have a bunch of female QDs from morebeer surplus if anyone is interested in buying them. The male QD's from mb&w are fine, just the females dont seal at all.

I bought real Perlicks after a bit of indecision on whether to just get the Chinese ones but at the end of the day I'd rather just pay once for quality than have to eventually shell out again after buying cheap. I bought 5 of the 630ss taps and am really happy with them. The initial investment is high but buy stainless and you'll never have to replace them if maintained right.

I'm looking for 3. Guessing the male connects will be the same as morebeerandwine. On holidays for the next 2 weeks but send me a pm with prices and postage to Dublin and I'll get back to you when I'm home.

So, I measured the barb and ordered 3/16" or 5mm tubing, should be a nice tight fit.
