CAFRE (Loughry College, Cookstown) are running their Brewing course again over 3-days on 10th, 11th and 17th November 2015.

Day 1 - Tuesday 10th November

09:30 The Four Key Ingredients - Water, Yeast, Malt and Hops
11:00 Coffee Break
11:15 Sensory
12:00 Lunch
12:30 Recipe formulation
15:15 Quality Management Systems
16:15 Brewery design
17:00 Closing comments

Day 2 - Wednesday 11th November
09:00 Recipe review
09:30 Coffee break
09:45 - 17:00 Practical brewing

Day 3 - Tuesday 17th November
09:30 Excise and Duty requirements
10:30 Coffee break
11:00 - 16:00 Practical brewing
16:00 Programme overview
17:00 Depart

Life moves pretty fast.....if you don't stop and look around once in a while....you could miss it.

I did this last year. They cover a lot of stuff in a very short time period so only really touch on the basics. I really enjoyed it though and would recommend to anyone that has an interest in the professional side of brewing.

Agree with Sub's comments above. I did the course 3 years ago and enjoyed it. Would be of more interest to anyone considering living the dream.......and you get to play with a 2.5 bbl system.

Looks good for £200 okay, but I don't like the way you don't get any lunch on days 2 and 3  :P

We have sent some staff members on this course and they enjoyed it, alot of info to take in a short period of time plus no brewing calculators allowed all paper and pencil calculations
