Planning my stag do around this and Shelbourne greyhounds for the saturday night 3rd October.  Firstly would anyone have any thoughts on whether it's worth going to and secondly is it easy enough to just turn up at the door and expect to get in without big queues?  I don't see any tables left for pre-booking on the saturday and from what I gather you have to forfeit a table if you turn up after 9pm (which we probably would be doing given we have the dog racing beforehand).  Apart from Brewdock any suggestions on the best craft beer bars in and around the docks area for a few pre-race pints?

Tried to go last year and was not impressed, the queues on the night stretched the whole way around the venue back up to the Harbourmaster. Decided not to bother queuing as I was only showing up on the night. Went into the Harbourmaster for a few, they have a small selection of craft including some German beers for Oktoberfest, nothing like the selection in the Brewdock though.

My experience of actually getting in to Oktoberfest on previous years is that its overcrowded with only one type of beer available. Would definitely recommend booking a table if you are with a group.
