I'm looking to pick up one of these jobbys, but I'm also looking to have it before christmas. Does anyone have one lying around they could spare? Willing to pay premium if it works and I can get it within the next couple of days.

Here's a link to the type of thing I'm talking about!

You can get them from HBC.

I rang in to them this morning to ask about those caps, and they said they were for carbonation only! As in, they have no barb on the bottom to attach tubing to, and they only fit gas disconnects instead of gas and liquid disconnects. This means you can't use them to fill bottles from the keg, only to carbonate uncarbed liquids.

Balls. I just assumed the stainless ones came with a barb. Back to China  :(

Yeay, it's a shame as I'd love to be able to bring some of my kegged beer along to a few events in the next few weeks. I'll order one from china but the request stands, anyone who has one of these to spare hit me up!

To bring to a meet, just vent your keg and pour really slowly into a cold bottle and you'll be ok. It'll be good just for the night. You can also make up an insert for the tap which brings a tube down to the end of the bottle to reduce foaming.
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

You can make a DIY keg to bottle setup with a rubber bung and an old bottling wand.

Takes a few gos to get right but definitely worth a go if you've no other option.

Leann ull

connect some tube to end on the tap enough to touch the bottom of your bottle to preserve carbonation and pour it in to preserve carbonation

I tried something similar the other day without the bung... The only tube I could get to fit in my picnic tap was 3/8", which wouldn't fit inside my bungs! I managed to fill the bottle maybe 3/4 full, but no matter what I did the rest was foam. I'll have to get a correctly sized bung and bore out the hole so I can fit a proper tube inside.
