Electronics help - plug for 12V fan wire?

Looking to build a stir plate and an oast, and got to thinking if i could use the same fan for the two and just connect a small socket to the wire so I can disconnect the fan easily with a mimimum of fuss. The oast will rest unused for about 362 days of the year so the extra fan would be a bit of a waste.

A quick look on ebay lead me to these - they look ideal but thought I'd double check here....

They say they're for CCTV... does this matter? Will they explode and kill my family some day if I use them for a non-CCTV related function?  >:D

They are fine, I use them in work and put anything from 5V to 12V through them  with up to an amp of current.
